Sardoni:
I'm getting my HoM to 30 in guild wars waiting for GW2. At least that game is building around massive scale combat in the vein of DAoC. The three factions are three servers fighting it out over two weeks.
And what happened to the 35000 credits in the guild bank? Pretty sure that some of that was mine... there's only 700 credits in the WCW bank now.
I moved the money to BL per Slaughterdog. I mailed Vexis his direct donation of 33K (total of 40K (since he actually donated a bulk sum.]
Whoever wants what I'll mail to whatever. I just took the money and dumped it in the next bank (again per Slaughterdog)
It's nearly impossible to figure out got what out of the bulk of money considering we have people like Vex and Mastigo (Cynic) that are level 30 or damn near so even at 10% they have contributed a larger bulk to that pool. But if people are like "I donated 10K" then take out 15K and give it to them. If I knew everyone's level I could calculate the most approximate amount of equalized donation with taxes x percent vs level progression of fail/win credit PVP rating and factor in the PVE reward for those that did as well... but since the game hides that data (and anyone can actually log in as a lowbie or high level and it's the same toon) it's damn near impossible to calculate that.
This is why I hate taxes in general. Might just set it to 0% in BennyLava. I think I set it to 10% to be consistent, but drama around money (in general) I've always hated in games and that's why I meticulously tracked said donations in spreadsheets and compared it to guild expenses and then published it on the website site so people knew where their investments went.
This was all done on the fly last night after I was fed up with getting tells from people asking what the alliance was going from that meeting I attended in vent and didn't say TWO WORDS during. It was on the fly with people online last night. I was tired of getting sucked into the AvA politics. I have no desire to play AvA. If ya'll do want to do that, please feel free to elect a spokesperson and keep going. I'll communicate to those in the alliance that I know what's going on or you can just join them. I want a game that I can just play to enjoy and I don't want socio-political obligations. This is a game I can queue up for a match or two and then go do laundry or whatever and not have to worry about supposed obligations.
Anyone and everyone in BennyLava can invite (even Member) to ensure we can get everyone in that wants to be in. BennyLava was Cynic's idea when Black Serpent didn't fit. I think it's a fun troll.
tl;dr? If you want money I'll send you money. 89K was the amount of the bank in BL after removing what I mailed to Vexis per Slaughterdog. I set BL tax rate at 10% so that 89K is "unclaimed" if you will. Since we're not planning on doing AvA (at least the people who "jumped ship" last night) I'll probably set the tax at 0% and then going around begging for alms for the poor if we ever do want to do that content.
You don't really need money in the game until you want to A.) start crafting or B.) start AvAing [there's always the vanity C. answer too].
I hit level 21 last night and I'm sure I've accumulated a decent amount of tax money, but I'll waive whatever to give it to people who are concerned with it. I have like 60K of my own personal money right now with nothing to spend it on so meh (I eve bought all the vendor crafting recipes etc).
I'm just a little surprised at all of this, is all. I've been super busy with work and haven't played in 2 days and now all of a sudden there's drama, new agency, money is gone, people aren't playing that I thought would, etc.
Don't really care, just would have been nice to get a heads up. Ratty and I will probably go join Pirates if this is how it's going to shake out since we both like the AvA concept and are willing to give it a go.
Money is trivial, doesn't matter in the grand scheme so no worries there... just wanted some sort of explanation as to what exactly happened to it all. Taxes don't bother me, so could care less about that...
Not angry/upset/raging/whatever, just super confused
I understand. Truly I do. But since some of us have been more active in the game this week vs others we've been dragged into things that I don't want to be dragged in PERSONALLY.
I got dragged into a temp ceasefire agreement with another alliance to ensure coordinated attacks against another alliance. Conceding certain territories vs. others. Yadda yadda. The more I heard... it was by every definition the type of game I enjoy playing however I have to balance what I'm willing to do vs what I'm not willing to do in this game.
Don't want to think right now. And since I do have so much exposure through Aionsource, Ruin, Warhammer, even AOC... people remember me. I just want to be not even a face in the crowd. I just want to do the non AvA stuff.
Of COURSE I will put in a great word for ya'll in PL. Hell, I'll just tell Mastyx/Kuronese to take you guys. Just don't be bad and make me look bad
I've just been playing with Bone and Cynic and Brooklyn and Squirddle and just queueing up and enjoying the wins... the losses... the new shiny toys that unlock when I level. Not really wanting to worry about the game of Risk going on. Dragged Bone and Cynic with me in with Neph's people to assist in AvA and I didn't like just standing around for X time waiting for something to happen. It's a necessary evil (don't get me wrong) but I already played the "wait" game. I'm tired of waiting for the game to tell me it's time to play. Learned that in Aion.
I can handle being in a queue. That makes sense, but assisting with defense is lame when no one attacks and then when you do attack the cost of upkeep yadda yadda.
The dynamic of owning territories should be self sufficient, but I'm not in the mood dealing with epeens. NOX wanted to join the allaince. PL vouched for them. Vex vouced for them and then Neph was creating some arbitrary expectation of like 100K a week if they aren't recruiting and blah blah blah. No time to deal with people. Just don't have the patience.
Cause real talk. If you wanted to help people with AvA or whatever. We can just drop agency, join PL. Help them. Then drop agency and join BL again. I mean if they need numbers... nothing says you can't do that.
Long story longer... there are dynamics to this game in the AvA content I don't understand and I choose to stay ignorant and just enjoying the way I'm playing the game now.
And for being away for a few days. Completely understand. Completely get it. But AvA happens every day. There's always some kind of socio-political peace treaty expectation negotiation yadda yadda. Take two days off and the whole game has changed. It REALLY appeals to the hardcore gamer at the heart. It's a good concept. If it was something I felt like dealing hell yeah I'd do it.
But I don't. So I bailed. I didn't even tell anyone in the alliance (lol). I just posted my Aionsource troll and walked away leaving everyone guessing. I didn't feel I owed anyone and explanation other than ya'll. I did not create obligation in this game, people started creating it for me.
I was going to do AvA (with goon) but I realized the time commitment it wanted and the amount of effort and I thought "no, I don't have time for this. I want to frag noobs and then go paint some warhammer 40k figures".
Also I want to buy those minotaur horns at 50 and I was tired of giving goon my cash.
If we do decide someday to do some sort of AVA content, we should make ourselves a mercenary corps. We essentially hire ourselves out to the smaller alliances who need help with their hexes, joining them to help and then rejoining BS when we're done. They'd have to foot the bill, but we'd get to fight and they'd get more bodies to help.
We wouldn't have to deal with any of the politics or anything - just go in, fight, get out.
(for now though I just want to level up and buy shiny armor)
Thrilled about this game. Not thrilled that Boobie Milk refuses to install my new computer parts so I can play this game! I have it purchased and downloaded and all that stuff, all I need now is just to get my computer into shape for it
I am being a smartass, but if I can build a computer from the ground up and get it to boot on the first try (without ever having done more then upgrading ram and vid cards in computers before this) you should be able to put some parts in.
It is not really rocket science... specially if your talking a new vid card n ram (not sure what parts your upgrading)
No I am taking the contents of my slim case and placing them into a bigger case so I can insert a new video card instead of the shitty integrated one. However, the power supply doesn't fit into the standard sized cases so I went and bought a new one that will fit.
