There's a lul in online games in general. This has been felt in just about everyone I've talked to that generally plays MMOs. No one is really playing anything. So I thought I'd create a guild news post wondering what everyone's been wasting their time with... I mean... entertaining themselves with.

Personally, I've been just playing League of Legends on and off to pass the time. Free to play DOTA style game. It's not bad... something to do. The MMO market seems to be dry and I'm not really looking forward to playing anything until probably Star Wars (only because I've always enjoyed a Bioware game).

So... what's everyone/anyone been up to? tongue

Hey everyone,

I return from Afghanistan in two weeks and I just wanted to see how everyone was doing. I noticed MMO gaming in general has dropped but I was curious if any in the guild were planning to jump on Aion 2.0? I plan on trying out Star Wars when it releases and I may also mess with Cataclysm to see what it has to offer. Hope you all are doing well.

I'm not sure if anyone will read this, and if they do I'm not sure if they will remember who I am... That being said, I really enjoyed Black Serpent and I'd enjoy catching up / playing games with you all again. I just got a 14 day free subscription to Warhammer: Online so I will be seeing if that game is still, well, warhammer... Other than that, I have also been playing a lot of League of Legends. I was a very high elo DotA player so LoL comes naturally. If any of you would like to play with me, feel free to add me. IGN: "Imposed Agony."

Take it easy.

Aloha Sederis!

If you're the one who played "Hostile" in Aion, then I sure do remember you. :3

I just got back onto my account today to check the forums and such. I've been out of the gaming world here lately. Last game I played was WoW, which I never thought would happen. Anyways, the hubs and I (Hatebean/Ekhades) just made our move out to Maryland. After a month of waiting, we just got all our home goods, including our computers. So, I'm ready to play something again! No idea what, though.

Long live Black Serpent.

Hi, Priya! Good to see you're still around!

Yes, my ranger / archer in Aion was named Hostile (the ranger that always beat squrridle 1v1 =D.) I would never pay for any kind of WoW subscription, but if you guys ever decide where to go keep me in the loop! Games I would recommend: League of Legends, City of Villains, Guild Wars (for a up-front-no subscription game it holds its weight, however I don't personally hold guild wars very high,) and Everquest 2. There are flaws with each game though. Most notably: League of Legends servers go haywire probably twice a week for a few hours where you cant even log in to play. Other than that they run a lot of very long maintenance hours. When you can play, though, it is a very good game. City of Villains: It's difficult to get groups in this game, and you need a group to do a lot. I never progressed very far in this game because all I did was solo, however I enjoyed the game play. Guild Wars: Personally, I just didn't feel the pull to this game. It's only style of PvP is arena based, so you're leveling to max cap by PvE only. This, combined with the need to get places, but no way to get there, leads you do have only one choice. Pay someone to "run" you there so you don't have to progress, but they will progress for you. There are multiple times when things like this arise in the game, and it ends up really getting under my skin. Everquest 2: This is by far my favorite MMO and it will always be, however there is one major problem with this game, the community. There are very few people who still play Everquest 2 and it makes leveling and end game raiding very difficult. You basically have to join an already established guild and level up with them, or you have little chance of accomplishing anything. Don't get me wrong, however, if you enjoy soloing you CAN get to max level simply by soloing. I did it, and it almost ruined the game for me, but it's very possible.

I hope this wall of text will help. =]

Hmm, well the hubs and I have been thinking of possibly trying League of Legends since I've heard a few serpents talk about it. Trying to pry more info from Voldy about it to see if it's worth playing.

You should get on vent sometime. I just jumped in tonight to see what's going on.

I'll try. Also, if you want league of legends info you can watch this official video.

It's over a year old, but it still covers the very basics well. The UI and layout of the game is very different, but the gameplay is pretty much the same as discussed.

Hai Priya and Hostile tongue And long time no hear from Mahasuke. Glad you made it back safely from Afgan!

I'm "Sardoni" on League of Legends =)

I've been playing nothing but Sona lately. Morgana/Kayle/Galio/Gangplank/Miss Fortune are the only real champions I ever play.

I think it's funny we've cycled back around to league of legends when my original post mentioned it tongue

Just a note - Warhammer seems to be almost the same as it was. Not much has changed that I have noticed yet....

Well that's sad. O.o Although I really enjoyed playing it myself. I had loads of fun with BS in that game... perhaps my favorite time with the guild. The server changes and unbalances on the servers made it aggravating though.

I, too, thoroughly enjoyed Warhammer. I was given a 14 day free "welcome back trial" thingymabober, but I will not be reactivating my account. Upon trying to log in, I noticed Dark Crag was no longer on the list. It seems they shut down EVERY server, and started up completely new servers. I created a toon on each available NA server and spoke to a lot of different leaders of guilds. I came to rest on one server, and tried to transfer over my characters. The website, however, did not allow transfers to this one server. So, I had to go to a different server. Since then I have joined a few guilds, none of which even use ventrilo let alone grasp the necessity of communication.. I've found lag issues, lack of community, lack of help, and over all disappointment. I have only one level 40 toon, and on my other toons I cannot even get a SC pop. It's pretty ridiculous.

On another, more cheerful note, myself and a few online friends I met in League of Legends will be starting up characters in Lord of the Rings: Online. It's nothing special from what I hear, but it's free. If anyone would like to join us feel free. If everything goes according to plans, we will be picking a server and starting our quests today (Tuesday, October 19th.)

Wow, Warhammer is so broken. Rofl.

Funny enough, I have a character on LotR online. Played it past the starter quests and stopped playing due to lack of interest... What server are you guys going to?
